Reuben was born in Stockholm Sweden, the capital of Sweden. People who meet him for the first time are often confused as to why he has an Irish last name while he has a noticeable Swedish accent, but it's because his father is Irish. His father married his mother, a Sweden woman, and had Reuben. They named him after the Reuben sandwich because their first date was a bit of a mess but for the picnic they had his mother had made packed that type of sandwich. When the two got married his father opened a bar called the Lucky Clover and they lived in Sweden for about six years. During this time the family struggled financially due to the bar not getting much attention. His mother was also a striving actress who's career had only spotted her very few jobs. Reuben was too young to understand the lack of money his family had.

Reuben was anemic since birth which at first cost his parents a lot of money in medical bills since they weren't sure what was wrong with him. He'd often get dizzy, weak, and experience a shortness in breath. Small problems like Reuben eating dirt and clay were blamed on him just being a kid but in reality he was diagnosed with anemia.

A lot of kids Reuben's age had fancy gaming systems and always were into the latest fads but due to the lack of money his family had he was forced to entertain himself in a more simplistic way. Reuben had a pack of crayons of one hundred different colors which was his most treasured item. Reuben was a child that was easy to satisfy with crayons and paper or some paints. However, this was initially what fueled Reuben's creativity and artistic ability. He showed a talent for art at a very early age and a lot of his free time was spent with a pencil in hand. Reuben had a dog they'd originally taken in named George but due to lack of money to care for him they had to give him to the shelter.

This did cause Reuben to be a bit more introverted, finding it more entertaining to draw than to play with other children. Although it wasn't that impossible for him to make friends. However he'd often get weak or dizzy which did become mentally frustrating for him since any time he did want to go out and be social with friends there was a change he could experience a few symptoms if he didn't get enough iron.

Reuben moved to Ireland at age six and settled into a smaller town where his father might better establish a business. The only way they were able to afford the move was through his grandparent's will when they passed away and a few generous donations from friends and neighbors. They had enough money now to live a moderately stable life. His father had moved on from owning a bar to owning a small coffee shop.

They named the coffee shop Swedish Delights in honor of his mother's birthplace and their original home. Serving some foods that were often found in Sweden. Luckily before they'd left they'd managed to adopt George back, to Reuben's delight. Being in such a quaint town a lot of the people around the area knew each other. Reuben became a bit of a famous face around the coffee shop since he would sketch people and give them the drawings when they left.

As Reuben grew older he became a calm and bright young man. He was a waiter for his father's cafe and helped handle some of the business while attending school. At the age of fourteen he'd already decided what he had wanted to accomplish with himself. He wanted to be a world renown artist and establish a name for himself. He became inspired off of Japanese Animations, Disney, and painters such as Rembrandt, Caravaggio and Michael Angelo.

While at a birthday party playing spin the bottle Reuben had his first kiss. One of his spins landed on a boy and the others peer pressured them into it. This was when Reuben learned he was sexually attracted to men and not women. Reuben became paranoid that he would be scrutinized by people for his sexuality and that it would tarnish his aspirations for being a big artist. With that in mind Reuben became secretive and kept his sexuality discreet. He's not entirely sure whether to be open about it or not but he does fear it will stop him from having a career even though it wouldn't. He thinks the world is very judgmental.

The cafe was planned to be demolished among a few other businesses in the area to make room for more residential homes. The offer they were made for the cafe was enough to keep them very well off. Reuben was a little sad to hear this and the news that his father wanted to move to Canada to open once more another type of shop. So they packed their bags once again and moved to Canada where Reuben had to settle himself into another School named Panacea Academy. He's recently moved in as a Junior. Reuben still loves art and has an art blog dedicated to the things he draws. Most of his blog however is of pairings and shippings which was something he learned about while getting his first laptop and searching the internet. Reuben often will get dizzy or weak if he doesn't provide himself with enough iron but he tries his best to keep tabs on this. But with his mind always busy with art he sometimes forgets. He spends his free time drawing people without them knowing.
